A pit bull puppy was found in a plastic container on the side of the road in Columbia, Maryland. Abandoned and alone, the puppy was barely ten weeks old and starving. Luckily, Jill Eberhart and her son, Thomas, stumbled upon the container and decided to investigate what was inside.
To their horror, they discovered a sad and emaciated puppy curled up inside. They immediately offered him water and waited for animal control to arrive. Taylor Hawkins, an animal control and animal handler, named the puppy Eddy and took him under his care.
Despite his dire condition, Eddy started to become stronger day by day. His saggy ears and sad eyes were slowly replaced by a happy and playful demeanor. The transformation was incredible and heartwarming to watch.
The best part of Eddy’s story is that he was eventually adopted. His new family gave him a loving home where he could thrive and be happy. However, the inquiry into what happened to Eddy on the side of the road is still ongoing. The person or people responsible for abandoning him must be identified and held accountable for their actions.
This kind of animal cruelty is unacceptable and must be stopped. It is important for concerned and law-abiding residents to speak out and report any unusual activity in their community. By working together, we can prevent incidents like this from happening and protect innocent animals from harm.
If you have any information about the person(s) responsible for abandoning Eddy, please contact Howard County Animal Control at 410.313.2780. Let us all speak out for the animals and children in our community and make a difference in their lives.
